This page is a plain-English summary of how the LinkOS prototype currently handles user information.
What we collect
When you sign in with GitHub OAuth, we currently receive your GitHub username and email address. If you use the product, we also store the files and other content you create or upload during the prototype.
Where your data is handled
The main LinkOS service is deployed on Cloudflare. User information and file data are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure. Some requests are relayed through a server located in Germany before they reach parts of the system.
Current security limits
This is an early prototype. At this stage, stored data should be treated as plain text on the server side. That means you should not use LinkOS for passwords, secrets, regulated information, or any other sensitive material.
Retention and deletion
Prototype data may be deleted at any time as features change, infrastructure is reset, or experiments end. When the prototype phase is over, we expect to delete all user data collected during this stage.
How to use the prototype safely
Only use test data that you are comfortable losing. If you do not agree with this prototype handling model, please do not continue using the service.
